Job Summary:
The Software Engineer I is responsible for performing low complexity software development tasks, including supporting and enhancing existing software applications/systems, as well as creating new applications/systems. This role operates under constant supervision and is familiar with basic software development concepts, practices, and procedures, with the ability to learn more complex concepts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs clearly defined software development tasks of low complexity.
- Participates in developing fixes or enhancements in existing applications/systems and/or new applications as specified.
- Understands and uses technical documentation.
- May perform system testing and/or other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and work experience.
Experience:
- 1+ year of study in the field of software engineering or equivalent.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, design, and develop systems.
- Team player and individual contributor.
- Ability to accurately identify the root cause of technical problems.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to change.
