Job Description:Zoho is seeking experienced and motivated Cloud Operations Engineers to join its Cloud and Infrastructure Operations team. In this role, you will manage and monitor Zoho's global data centers, ensuring the smooth functioning of cloud infrastructure and systems. This is an opportunity for IT professionals with a strong background in Linux OS, server management, and cloud infrastructure components like virtualization and load balancing.
As a Cloud Operations Engineer at Zoho, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the complete lifecycle management of servers and storage systems. You will work closely with other teams to configure, provision, and maintain Linux OS for a large number of servers using automated installation techniques. Additionally, you will play a key role in managing infrastructure components such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, Proxy, and Load Balancers, while ensuring high availability of Zoho’s services across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Center Management:
You will oversee Zoho’s various data centers located globally, handling the entire lifecycle of servers, storage systems, and supporting hardware. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and provisioning Linux OS for servers using automated methods, ensuring seamless operations.
2. Monitoring & Incident Management:
Working in a 24×7 rotational shift, you will continuously monitor Zoho’s servers and applications. You will be responsible for responding to incidents, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing solutions to prevent future issues. Your ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot issues will be critical to maintaining system stability.
3. Infrastructure Management:
You will manage core infrastructure components, including DNS, DHCP, NTP, Proxy, and Load Balancers. Additionally, you will perform periodic validation of Disaster Recovery (DR) data centers across different regions to ensure business continuity and reliability.
4. Automation & Scripting:
A significant part of your role involves automation of repetitive tasks using open-source tools like Puppet and Ansible. You will also use shell and Python scripts to automate system management tasks, perform package installations, and maintain server configurations efficiently.
5. Cloud Infrastructure & Networking:
You will work with cloud infrastructure components, including virtualized environments, and will need to be proficient in basic networking concepts such as VLAN, NAT, ARP, firewall, and switch configuration. Additionally, you should have a basic understanding of SaaS components like RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and Hadoop.
6. Hardware Knowledge & Support:
In this role, you will have to manage and troubleshoot server hardware components, including CPUs, different types of drives, and internal server designs. This technical expertise will enable you to identify hardware failures and assist in resolving issues in a timely manner.
7. Team Collaboration & Communication:
You will collaborate closely with other teams such as DevOps, network, framework, and application development teams. Excellent communication skills are crucial for coordinating efforts and ensuring all teams work together efficiently to maintain Zoho’s global infrastructure.
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Background:
- A BE/BTech degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a strong foundation in operating systems, cloud infrastructure, and networking concepts.
Experience Level:
- The position requires 1-5 years of relevant experience in cloud operations, data center management, or infrastructure management roles. Hands-on experience with Linux OS, cloud components, and automation tools is essential.
Technical Skills:
- Must-Have:
- Strong knowledge of Linux OS, server management, and cloud infrastructure components such as virtualization, load balancers, and DNS.
- Experience with automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible, along with proficiency in shell scripting and Python.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (VLAN, NAT, ARP) and cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of SaaS components like RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and Hadoop.

- Good to Have:
