Job Summary
Cognizant is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates with 0 to 4 years of experience in Service Desk operations and IT support. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for resolving technical issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring seamless user support. This is an office-based role with no travel requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-level technical support for hardware and software issues.
Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and networks.
Respond to service desk tickets efficiently, ensuring high user satisfaction and adherence to SLAs.
Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
Maintain technical documentation and update user guides to enhance support efficiency.
Conduct system checks and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Assist in implementing IT policies and security procedures.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems.
Provide training and support to users on new IT tools and technologies.
Stay up to date with industry trends to enhance support capabilities.
Ensure compliance with security policies and IT best practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize service desk operations.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of Service Desk operations and IT best practices.
Experience in hardware and software troubleshooting.
Proficiency in installing and configuring computer systems and networks.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with users and teams.
Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Knowledge of IT policies, procedures, and security protocols.
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA A+
ITIL Foundation
Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
