About the Role:
Microsoft’s Azure Storage team is transforming the future of cloud infrastructure by building a robust, scalable, and high-performance storage platform. As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing next-generation storage solutions powered by Data Processing Units (DPUs). Your work will help deliver ultra-efficient, distributed storage capabilities that support millions of users worldwide.

In this role, you’ll contribute across the full software development lifecycle—from design and coding to testing and deployment. This is a high-impact opportunity to work on bleeding-edge cloud technologies and sharpen your skills in large-scale distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather and refine user requirements
Design and develop scalable storage services for cloud infrastructure
Take ownership of specific software components or modules, guiding their design and implementation
Write high-quality, maintainable, and extensible code in modern programming languages
Focus on code quality, reliability, and performance while adhering to best practices
Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous integration processes
Embrace a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and improvement

Eligibility Criteria:
Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
Equivalent industry experience will also be considered

Preferred:
1+ years of experience in software engineering (or) a Master’s degree in a relevant technical field
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and distributed systems
Experience with cloud storage or networking technologies is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to pass Microsoft’s Cloud Background Check (required every two years for this role)
