Description for Software Engineer Test
As a Software Engineer, Test at BlackLine, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality of our web-based applications and RESTful APIs, critical for our high-transaction and big-data SaaS applications. Your role will involve driving high-quality releases, contributing to value delivery for customers, and promoting a culture of quality and customer-first mentality.

Responsibilities
- Create UI and API automation using existing tools and frameworks to ensure future automation coverage.
- Assess risks, suggest improvements, and follow mitigation strategies for projects with complex requirements.
- Execute QA forensics and detailed root cause analysis of test failures and reported defects.
- Collaborate with QA, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure clear user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Author high-quality test plans and test cases.
- Partner with leadership and peers to support meaningful change and adaptation, focusing on improving quality within BlackLine.

Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in Web Application, SaaS, and RESTful API testing.
- Intermediate understanding of Java and C#.
- 1+ years of hands-on test automation development.
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
- Full working knowledge of quality concepts and best practices.
- Intermediate understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and XML.

Preferred Qualifications
- CS degree or equivalent preferred.
- Experience with big-data and/or high-transaction applications is a strong plus.
- Prior experience with Selenium or Cucumber preferred.
- Experience with Agile, specifically SCRUM, is preferred.
- Experience testing mobile applications is a plus.
