Job Description for Associate Software Engineer:
As an Associate Software Engineer at Eurofins, you will be an integral part of the Collaborative Platforms and IT Tools Team. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in managing various application lifecycle platforms and tools. This includes tasks related to Microsoft Team Foundation Server and the Document Management and Archiving system based on Microsoft SharePoint. The position demands a strong understanding of standard operating procedures (SOP) and the ability to follow them meticulously.
The successful candidate will learn to operate and maintain applications and ensure that all processes are executed as per defined guidelines, without any deviation. You will be expected to work within the frameworks provided, support the team in IT operations, and learn the best practices of application management in a real-world environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Support and Operations: You will work closely with senior engineers to provide support for different applications managed by the IT Tools team. This includes monitoring, maintaining, and ensuring smooth operation of collaborative platforms like Microsoft Team Foundation Server and SharePoint.
- Adherence to SOPs: The Associate Software Engineer is expected to follow approved SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) without deviation. This includes learning the processes for the specific applications you handle and ensuring strict compliance.
- Issue Resolution: As part of the support function, you will handle minor troubleshooting tasks for the applications under the IT Tools team’s purview. You may also be involved in logging and tracking issues, and escalating more complex problems to senior engineers when necessary.
- Collaboration with Teams: You will be collaborating with both local and international teams, particularly in matters related to application lifecycle management. You will communicate clearly and efficiently with team members, especially in multi-cultural environments.
- Continuous Learning and Process Improvement: You will be encouraged to identify areas where processes can be improved or streamlined. Based on your learning and understanding of the systems, you can contribute to improving the operational efficiency of the team.
