Job Summary:
Are you an IT professional seeking an opportunity to contribute to innovative industrial software solutions? Emerson is hiring an IT Development Engineer to develop and implement Historian HMI/MIS/Data Visualization Systems. We are looking for someone experienced in the Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, or Energy/Utilities industries, ideally with EPCs, end-users, or OEM organizations offering similar products and solutions.
Responsibilities:
As an IT Development Engineer, you will:
Design and finalize system architecture for Historian solutions.
Review customer RFQs to define scope of work and create BOMs.
Develop conceptual design documentation.
Install and configure database servers.
Enable data ingress/egress to and from database servers.
Configure input/output systems.
Develop visualization graphics, reports, dashboards, and analytical tools (Visual KPIs).
Install and manage OPC/OEM communication drivers/servers.
Address technical queries related to projects.
Perform QA/QC testing, ensuring proper documentation and records.
Deploy applications on remote machines and configure firewall ports.
Utilize Lua/VB scripting for custom reporting and visualization.
Assist in creating project-specific documentation, deliverables, and proposals.
Collaborate with team members during testing, acceptance, and implementation phases.
Report progress, status, and issues to supervisors regularly.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Basic Requirements:
0 to 1 year of experience in industrial software applications.
Knowledge of OPC/ODBC communication interface design.
Proficiency in deploying applications and managing remote systems.
Experience with database configuration, firewall settings, and server communication.
Familiarity with QA/QC testing processes and documentation.
Strong understanding of Lua/VB scripting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages.
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work collaboratively and deliver projects successfully.
Willingness to undergo technical and soft skills training.
Flexibility to travel globally for short, medium, or long-term assignments.
